Ingredients:

1 box chocolate cake mix (Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge is best!)

1 1/3 c. water

1/2 c. vegetable oil

3 eggs

1 can cherry pie filling

3 c. (24 oz.) heavy whipping cream

1/3 c. powdered sugar

chocolate syrup

 

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Mix cake batter according to directions on box. Grease and flour two 8" or 9" round cake pans. Pour batter evenly in two pans. Bake for 35 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool cakes on wire racks.

3. In the meantime, combine whipping cream and powdered sugar in a chilled medium bowl. Beat with an electric mixer at high speed until stiff peaks form. Reserve 1 1/2 c. and set aside.

4. Level cakes and set one on cake board or plate. Pour chocolate syrup
